Detox – A Homeopathic Approach

Modern disease has taken on a form dramatically different from that of disease of former times. The contemporary human organism is under a huge amount of stress from toxic and unhealthy environmental factors — in the air, from medicines, in the foods we eat, and the manufactured products that surround us daily. The idea of detoxification from such toxins has taken on the dimensions of a fad — from detox diets to drainage supplements and regimes that are meant to purify the body.

For the most part, the human body does a fine job of detoxing itself, however, there are instances in which the presence of such toxins cause chronic and debilitating illness. Moreover, these toxins can impact the effectiveness of homeopathic treatment, preventing the return to homeostasis and internal balance.

In these classes we will delve into the possibilities and approaches of homeopathic detoxification. These approaches include the use of homeopathic remedies to clear individual organs, encourage drainage and remove the blocks that toxic exposure has created. We will examine the use of chelations, and orthomolecular products as well as both known and unknown homeopathic remedies for such purposes. We will learn about the body’s normal and abnormal detoxification pathways and how to optimize their functions if needed. We will examine the materia medica for the use of sarcodes (remedies made from the body’s own healthy tissues) to relearn proper function, as well as the use of nosodes, organotherapy, and isopathic remedies useful for homeopathic detoxification. This course will include cases to help students understand when a homeopathic detox is needed and how to manage that detoxification process over the course of caring for a patient.
