OCHM is thrilled to be offering our Certificate Course, Foundations Program, Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Health Sciences as well as our Post Graduate Fellowship Program, through partnership with Dr. Heather Cardona of Via Natural Medicine in Manitoba. All Programs are designed to be fully interactive on-line/distance learning programs.  Students who register for the Foundations in Homeopathy course will take the same distance learning modules as all other students but will benefit from the addition of live monthly Question & Answer sessions from the brilliant and talented Dr. Heather Cardona. The course material will be provided and assessed by staff at OCHM.

This fully interactive on-line course is an intensive study of the fundamentals of Homeopathic philosophy and basic homeopathic therapeutic prescribing. Students who complete the Foundations Program in Homeopathy at OCHM Manitoba are eligible to continue their studies in Homeopathic Medicine and Health Sciences and work towards achieving their Diploma.  Those who also have a background in the health and medical sciences are eligible to be fast-tracked through a joint Program for Helathcare providers.  If you are a graduate of a Homeopathic College/University you may be eligible for the Post-Graduate Fellowship Program in Homeopathy. As with the Foundations course, students will complete their homeopathic courses from a distance – in this instance via a format such as ZOOM, allowing each student to be part of the advanced homeopathic program courses through OCHM. Participating in live classes provides students with the opportunity to interact with colleagues and teachers from around the world.

The clinical portion of the Diploma Program and Fellowship Program could be conducted on-site at the Via Natural Medicine Clinic in Winnipeg, MB, giving students the benefit of a live, supervised clinical experience to complement their academic training.

The content of each of these courses prepares students (along with their clinical internship) for professional homeopathic practice. The course material covers a wide swath of homeotherapeutics, materia medica, specialized concepts in Homeopathy, homeopathic philosophy, case management, and case analysis.

Students will receive a Diploma from OCHM when they complete their academic and clinical requirements. Students who receive a Diploma from OCHM are eligible to register with the College of Homeopaths of Ontario if so desired (not required to practice in provinces outside of ON). OCHM is one of only two programs approved by the CHO.

I am here to offer knowledge and experience in Natural Medicine to help you find your pathway to healing and vitality. Healing is something sacred and always available to us. There are many pathways for healing. What I have to offer is guidance through these various paths.

My training is in Homeopathic Medicine, Botanical Medicine, Clinical Nutrition, Allergy Testing, and Nutraceutical Support. My educational background is in Chemistry, where I graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor of Science and a double-major in Biochemistry and Chemistry. I worked for three years at the University of Winnipeg doing research in the Biochemistry department where I helped to test single-enzyme activity of high dilution solutions through capillary electrophoresis. My fascination with quantum chemistry led me to investigate the philosophy of Homeopathy: the study of biological reactions at sub-molecular levels of activity through natural medicine.

Inspired by the philosophy of Homeopathy, I continued my studies in medicine at the Manitoba College of Homeopathic Medicine, where I completed a 4-year natural medical program and graduated with the title Doctor of Homeopathic Medical Sciences in 2006.

My education and training at the MCHM was inspiring and eye-opening. I felt for the first time that my understanding of quantum chemistry finally connected with the type of medicine we were taught to employ. I learned how chronic disease can only be present within a system that has been in need of greater balance and support over time. I came to know the invaluable gift of understanding a person’s health as a wholistic experience, inseparable from their life experiences, genetic susceptibilities, and unique constitution. I learned what healing entails: that it’s a learned experience. Healing involves addressing the root cause of imbalance, and teaching the body through supportive therapies to restore patterns of function that are appropriate and optimal for health and wellness.

I am trained to support and restore health in all cases of pathology and I have come to specialize in paediatrics, digestive health, hormone balance, healthy immune function, and nervous system health. I have been trained to use many different types of natural modalities to facilitate healing: Homeopathy, Herbal Medicine, Lifestyle Counselling, Nutritional Therapy, Food Sensitivity Testing, and Vitamin/Mineral Therapies.
