REGULATION

The Proclamation of the Homeopathy Act, 2007 took place on April 1, 2015, making Homeopathy a newly regulated health profession in the province of Ontario under the Regulated Health Professions Act. This momentous event represented the culmination of years spent developing a framework for the self-regulation of homeopathy in Ontario. Accountability and public protection go hand in hand. It marks the beginning of a new phase for both the public and the profession of Homeopathy.

OCHM was the only school that was a vocal and tireless advocate of this historic process which resulted in the integration of Homeopathy into the health system. The Transitional Council of the College of Homeopaths of Ontario established and implemented standards of education and practice to protect the welfare of the public and to make sure that Health Care Professionals meet the criteria required to practice as Homeopaths in Ontario.

We are very proud to say that OCHM not only meets but exceeds all of the outlined standards set forth by the government and we are committed to increasing those standards year after year to continue to uphold the mandate!

We believe that a patient’s health and safety should always come first and this is what we have been able to achieve through our high educational standards.
