Homeopathy provides relief for Ear Infections
A middle ear infection can be caused by several factors, normally pathogenic like a common cold. Typically, the infection travels to the ear(s) via the eustachian tubes. There are several symptoms that are characteristic of an ear infection including pain, redness, ear discharge, pressure, fever, decreased hearing and vertigo.
Homeopathic remedies can be used to ease the symptoms of an ear infection quickly and efficiently. Here are some good ones to try:
Acon: comes on suddenly with exposure to cold conditions. Ear pain, dry cough, congestion.
Bell: excessive pain that is throbbing or pulsating in nature. Sudden onset. Sometimes will come after a throat infection. Redness around and in ear with a high fever. Pain extends to head and neck. Cold limbs.
Calc-sulph: thick yellow discharge
Chamomilla: stitching pain in the ear. The child will demand to be carried and only feel better that way. Pain makes patient angry. Pressure. Worse during teething. Clear nasal discharge. One cheek red.
Ferrum-phos: early stages with no pus formation
Hepar-sulph: pussy yellow discharges and fever. Sharp pain. Chilly and irritable patient. Better heat. Worse night.
Kali-mur: white discharge from the ear
Merc-sol: pus that has blood in it is oozing from the ear. Worse heat. Foul smelling sweat. Drooling. Restless.
Pulsatilla: green discharge. Worse night and in a warm room. Thirstless. Whiny and clingy.
Silicea: weakness. Chilly. Pain on the outside of the ear and around ear. Useful in the latter stages of an infection
