NUTS AND BOLTS OF ACUTE
CASE TAKING AND PRESCRIBING

Nuts and Bolts of Acute Case Taking and Prescribing

Date/time: Sunday, April 19th, 2026 (10am – 6pm EST) | Cost: $125Β  | Lecturer: Inna Dolgopolsky

Β

Acute cases are often where Homeopaths feel the most pressure – things move quickly, symptoms change, and decisions need to be made with clarity and confidence. This lecture is designed to simplify that process. Rather than relying on memorization or guesswork, you will learn how to approach acute prescribing in a structured, grounded way that makes sense clinically and is easy to apply in practice.

This full-day lecture offers a clear, practical, and clinically grounded approach to acute case-taking and prescribing in everyday practice. The focus is on helping practitioners move beyond theory and feel more confident navigating real-life acute cases with clarity and precision.

Participants will learn how to approach acute conditions through an understanding of pathophysiology, symptom patterns, and the body’s responseβ€”and how to translate this understanding into effective and accurate prescribing.

Together, we will work through some of the most common acute presentations encountered in practice, including:

  • Fever (including septic patterns)
  • Catarrh, sinusitis, and ENT conditions
  • Otitis media and post-infectious stages
  • Sore throat and tonsillitis
  • Cough and respiratory differentiation
  • Acute eye conditions
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Gastrointestinal complaints (diarrhea, colitis, enterocolitis, vomiting)
  • Sciatica and more

Throughout the day, we will focus on:

  • How to approach acute case-taking across different clinical scenarios
  • What to ask (and why) in specific conditions (ENT, respiratory, GI, UTI, etc.)
  • Understanding the underlying processes driving symptoms
  • Recognizing stages of disease progression and their corresponding remedies
  • Prescribing based on etiology, key sensations, modalities, and concomitants
  • Differentiating when a case is truly acute versus when deeper layers are involved

Materia Medica will be approached in a practical, clinically relevant wayβ€”studying remedies through the lens of specific acute conditions and symptom patterns so they become easier to recognize and apply in practice.

This lecture bridges classical homeopathic principles with modern clinical thinking, supporting practitioners in developing greater confidence and clarity in acute prescribing – from everyday cases to more complex and evolving presentations.

Instructor: Inna Dolgopolsky, HOM

Inna is a Classical Homeopath and full member of the College of Homeopaths of Ontario. Her journey into homeopathy began over 18 years ago when she chose to raise her newborn daughter without antibiotics, steroid creams, or conventional medications. Today, her entire family lives essentially drug-free, relying instead on homeopathic remedies.

Inspired by the profound impact homeopathy had on her family, Inna pursued formal training with leading institutions in the field.

Her approach is grounded in both medical understanding and holistic principles. Coming from a family of European medical doctors, she was raised with a strong emphasis on physiology, prevention, and treating the individual as a whole. These values continue to guide her work, supporting the body’s natural healing processes rather than suppressing symptoms.

In her practice, Inna treats a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, with a particular focus on children, including those with neurological and behavioural challenges such as autism and ADHD. She also works extensively with stress-related conditions, recognizing stress as a significant contributor to modern illness.

Inna is deeply committed to patient education and empowering individuals and families to make informed decisions about their health. Supporting others on their path to healing remains at the core of her work.
