COVID, Long COVID and New Miasms in Homeopathy

It has now been five years since our world shifted with a novel virus on the scene, and still the fallout continues. Although the acute crisis has passed, the deeper ripples of what we have collectively called COVID-19 continue to influence health, susceptibility, and vitality in profound ways.
In this webinar, we will explore the continued effects of these shifts and ripples, examining how the initial disease state — and the global reaction to it — has left lasting imprints on individuals and communities.
We will explore more in-depth the leading remedies that are being used to help with long COVID and its many variations, such as brain fog, bleeding issues, hormonal issues, hair loss, and many, many more. Joy will discuss what is emerging in practice, which remedy patterns are showing up most reliably, and how different presentations respond depending on the patient’s susceptibility and miasmatic landscape.
We will also cover acute COVID management and identification based on currently presenting symptoms — which, for the most part, look nothing like they used to. As the virus changes, so do its expressions, and Joy will walk us through the observed patterns that are now appearing in clinic, helping us recognize and differentiate these newer acute states with clarity and confidence.
Of course, we cannot ignore the magnitude of the attitudinal shifts about disease that have occurred over the last five years, nor the effects of mass suppression — emotional, physical, and pharmaceutical. These too will be covered in the context of presenting miasmatic shifts caused by these massive changes. Joy will explore how these societal and psychological pressures have altered the way disease manifests, how they have affected susceptibility, and how they can block or distort the vital force.
Most importantly, you will learn how to unblock patients from these effects, so that their vital force can once again return to a state of balance and appropriate response. Joy will guide us through approaches to restore coherence, resolve suppression, and help the organism reestablish its natural direction of healing.

Joy Burlton received her Bachelor of Health Sciences Degree from the University of Western Ontario, always having had an interest in medicine. After a lot of investigation into different modalities she discovered homeopathy and found it to be a perfect fit for the type of deep healing she valued.
Homeopathy, she found was the perfect tool to aid others in experiencing this type of healing and lasting health. She then went on to achieve Honours in her four-year post-graduate Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Health Sciences at the Ontario College of Homeopathic Medicine (OCHM).
Joy is a licensed Homeopath and has been practising in Toronto since 2007. She has enjoyed growing her practice and raising more awareness about homeopathy in Toronto and surrounding areas. Joy is part of the faculty at OCHM and is a clinical supervisor. Our students love her depth and breadth of knowledge and the many case examples she brings to her teaching.
