Mammal Remedies in Homeopathy

Date/time: Saturday and Sunday, November 27 & 28, 2021 (9am – 4pm EDT both days)
Cost: $150 until November 15th, 2021 and $200 thereafter
Lecturer: Dr. Jonathan Hardy

In this seminar we will study a fascinating and important remedy group; the mammals. Dr. Jonathan Hardy finds that mammal remedies are the most commonly indicated animal remedy group in his practice. Possibly this is because we are mammals ourselves and mammal themes therefore have a deep resonance with the human state. These remedies have a wide sphere of application, being especially useful for eating disorders, addictions and anxiety states. Mammal patients want nurturing – to be held and cuddled in a warm, safe and comfortable environment. Their inner feeling can be cold and empty, with a sense of being forsaken in a hard, unloving world.

We will study the general themes found in mammal cases and look at a number of different families, including Cats, Primates and Dogs and learn the unique differentiating characteristics of each. Traditional use of provings, materia medica, fine case taking and the precise use of the repertory can combine beautifully with sensation level material to give a clear totality.

The remedies studied will include Lac leoninum (Lion), Sanguis panther tigris (Tiger), Lac felinum (Domestic Cat), Lac lupinum (Wolf), Lac caninum (Domestic Dog), Lyssinum (Mad Dog), Lac humanum and Lac maternum (Human Milk), Dama dama (Fallow Deer), Suricatta suricatta (Meerkat), Macaca mulatta (Rhesus macaque), Gorilla, Pan troglodytes (Chimpanzee), Sanguis ursa arctos (Grisly Bear) and aquatic species including Ambra grisea (Sperm Whale), Lac delphinum (Dolphin) and Castoreum canadense (Beaver). Cases will be analyzed over the weekend. Some of the cases will be of children and we will study case-taking techniques for our younger patients. Case analyses are especially significant in assisting homeopaths in their understanding of this group of remedies and therefore their prescription; which for the patient can be life altering.

β€œCase taking is about understanding the patient’s state. An important part of being a homeopath is having the courage to stay in this place of not knowing”.
